Resources
A glossary of the fee and contract terms used on this site, and a page for accountants who refer clients to R&D specialists. Also a bridge to the research on how advisers are paid, the sister site, and the newsletter.
The resources here support the rest of the site. The glossary defines every fee and contract term the site uses, in plain English, with a link to the page that explains it. The accountants' page is for those who refer clients to R&D specialists and want to help them compare proposals without recommending anyone. The research page is a bridge to the sister site that covers the fee and preparer rules themselves. The newsletter sends occasional updates when guidance changes, and nothing else.
What is not here
This site does not keep a list of advisers, a directory, a rating or a referral service, and it never will. If you are looking for a way to choose an adviser, start with the questions to ask and the tools.
- GlossaryThe fee and contract terms used on this site, in plain English, each with a link to the page that explains it. Country terms are defined briefly with a link to the country page.
- For accountantsFor accountants and bookkeepers whose clients ask about R&D tax advisers. How to help a client compare proposals on the same basis, the referral fee disclosure point, and the questions worth suggesting. Neutral on whether to refer, and on whom.
- The researchThis site is about choosing and working with an adviser. The fee and preparer rules themselves, country by country, are set out on a sister site, which is also published by Swanson Reed. That site argues for a change in those rules. This page says what is there and how the two sites differ.
- Related sitesThis site has a sister site, ResearchCreditIntegrity.org, also published by Swanson Reed. It covers the fee and preparer rules and argues for changing them. It is not a service of this site, and this site recommends no adviser.
- NewsletterOccasional updates when guidance changes. No schedule, no marketing, and no adviser will contact you. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
KnowYourFees.org is published by Swanson Reed, an R&D tax advisory firm that competes with other advisers. This site does not recommend any adviser, including Swanson Reed.
