Cookie policy
The cookies this site sets and what each one is for. Today there are two, both needed for the site to work. There are no advertising, tracking or analytics cookies.
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. This page lists every cookie this site sets.
The cookies we set
The site sets two cookies. Both are needed for the site to work, both come from this site and not from another company, and neither is used to track you.
| Cookie | What it is for | How long it lasts |
|---|---|---|
XSRF-TOKEN |
Security. It stops another website from sending a form to this site in your name | Two hours after your last page view |
kyf_session |
Keeps a short session so that the security check above can work | Two hours after your last page view |
What we do not use
- No advertising cookies.
- No analytics or tracking cookies.
- No cookies set by other companies.
- No social media buttons that set cookies.
The fonts and images are served from this site, so reading a page does not send a request to a font or advertising service.
Why there is no cookie banner
Some privacy laws, including the law in the United Kingdom, ask for your consent before a site sets cookies it does not strictly need.1Source 1The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003, regulation 6, as explained in the ICO's guide to cookies and similar technologies. Strictly necessary cookies are exempt. This site sets none, so there is nothing to ask you about.
If that changes, you will see a banner before anything new is set. It will have Accept and Reject buttons of equal weight, nothing optional will be set unless you accept, and the new cookie will be listed on this page first. Your choice would be kept in your browser's own storage, not in a cookie.
The tools
The calculator, the fee test and the health check keep nothing in cookies or in your browser's storage. When you close the page, what you entered is gone.
Controlling cookies
You can block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block the two cookies above you can still read every page and use every tool, but the form for updates by email will not work.
More about your data
The privacy policy explains what personal data the site holds and why.
